Stephen A. Thompson was born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 23, 1955. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri at St. Louis in 1977, and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1980.
Mr. Thompson is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri. From 1981-1986, Mr. Thompson was associated with the Clayton, Missouri firm of Fordyce & Mayne, P.C. In 1986, together with Mr. Copeland, Mr. Thompson founded what is now Copeland Thompson Farris PC. He served as the Municipal Judge for the City of Clayton, Missouri from 1986 to 1990. He is a member of The Missouri Bar and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
Mr. Thompson's practice concentration is in the areas of business and corporate law, real estate, landlord and tenant, civil litigation and represents employers in employment and human resource matters. He currently serves a diverse clientele of St. Louis based corporations and institutions in these and other areas, including BJC Health System, Crown Packaging Corp., Greater Missouri Builders, Inc. and All Star Dodge Chrysler Jeep. In addition, he serves as local counsel for such clients as Emmis Broadcasting and Village Green Management Company.
